[paper] Major Agreements between Genron NPO and China Daily

Genron NPO and China Daily will strive to encourage policymakers, including politicians and bureaucrats, economic leaders and representatives of news media in Japan and China, to continuously engage in constructive discussions while divulging what they are really thinking and revealing the contents of such discussions mainly to news media in their respective nations from time to time through their respective Web sites.

As the kickoff of such discussions, the two organizations will co-host a symposium in Beijing in July 2005, the main theme of which is to clarify the communication and recognition gaps between the peoples of the two nations.

Prior to the symposium, a joint questionnaire survey will be carried out in Japan and China.

After the symposium in Beijing this year, the next symposium will take place alternately in Japan or China each year.

A joint task force appointed by Genron NPO and China Daily will plan discussion topics and special events and implement such plans.
