Q. What kind of organization is The Genron NPO?
A. The Genron NPO is an independent, non-partisan and not-for-profit think tank in Japan. The Genron NPO was established in 2001 out of the belief that, for the construction of a sound civic society, it is necessary to create a venue for serious and responsible future-oriented policy debate by those with a strong sense of being a stakeholder.

Q. Who are participating in The Genron NPO's activities?
A. More than 500 Japan's representative opinion leaders such as academics, journalists, government officials and business leaders are participating in Genron NPO's activities. The Genron NPO Advisory Board oversees the organization's activities. Other than staff members, many interns and volunteers are also working to create The Genron NPO's program.
Q. What are Genron NPO's self-evaluations concerning non-partisan and non-religious affiliation operations?
A. We believe that, as a tax-exempt organization operated through donations, we have the obligation to work from a non-partisan and non-religious affiliation perspective. In order to prove that all of our activities are non-partisan and non-religious affiliation, we evaluate ourselves every year and publish the results widely. Q. What are the donations used for?
A. The donations we receive from our supporters are used for activities such as evaluation of manifestos and the incumbent administration's performances, hosting the annual "Tokyo-Beijing Forum" and other Japan-China relations related events, as well as operations of debates in websites, forums and seminars. Q. Will my donations be considered tax deductible?
The Genron NPO is an authorized non-profit organization, which has been recognized by the National Tax Administration Agency. Any donation that exceeds 2,000 yen will be considered tax deductible.

Q. What should I do if I want to get involved as a volunteer or an intern?
A. Many college interns from abroad are participating in our activities by conducting research, creating materials and operating platforms for discussions. We provide our volunteers and interns with intellectually stimulating opportunities such as participating in policy evaluations, discussions with intellectuals from Japan and from abroad, etc.
